Ruggero Mameli shares with us… 3/3

on Apr 14, 2014 | 0 comments

In the master bedroom, furnished with modern elements of extraordinary quality, we installed a large bathroom with simple and modern minimalist linear furniture, with the exception of the mirror, which my friend’s mother was going to throw out but I salvaged it - I think it's wonderful. For my guests, the house has two bedrooms and a colorful bathroom, and a room for staff during the night.

The Holy week in Castelsardo and Tergu

on Apr 13, 2014 | 0 comments

Lunissanti begins with a procession held on Holy Monday (“Lunedì Santo”, hence the name), the day after Palm Sunday, bearing the Mysteries, the instruments of the Passion of Christ. At Castelsardo and Tergu, Lunissanti represents a synthesis of local sentiment, where the sacred and solemn moment of the evocation of the Passion blends with the secular feast celebrating the return of Spring.

Bitti: How to revive a village in Sardinia

on Dec 21, 2013 | 0 comments

For years, the alarming phenomenon of the depopulation of the inland areas of Sardinia has been written about, and there are questions about possible solutions to stem this devastating demographic decline. Bitti is one of the most important centers of northern Barbagia. Today there are about three thousand permanent residents enrolled in the registration offices, but just 50 years ago, there were more than twice that number. Costa Smeralda style

on Dec 15, 2013 | 0 comments

The creation of the Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast), operated by the Consortium formed in 1962, marked the beginning of the tourist boom in Sardinia. The area affected by this significant architectural, economic, and cultural phenomenon extends about 50 km between Arzachena and Olbia and includes a portion of almost uninhabited territory.

The Consortium, whose first members included Karim Aga Khan, is formed around a very rigid organization. Its main focus was represented by the Architectural Committee, which monitored and regulated any construction activity that took place in the Costa Smeralda, on the basis of a manufacturing program fully sponsored by the City of Arzachena.

The Red Gold of Sardinia

on Dec 11, 2013 | 0 comments

Saffron is a splendid spice which gives color and flavor to its dishes. It thrives abundantly on the fertile ground of Sardinia, making the island a national leader in its production. Sardinia is one of the few Italian regions where the “red gold” can be found, particularly in San Gavino Monreale (Province of Sassari), where the well-known international fair is held annually. The source of this valuable product is a purple flower called "Crocus Sativus" (saffron crocus) of the Liliaceae family. The pistils are harvested only by hand for 10 to 15 days between late October and early December.
